Effective October 8, 2026. Social Patch is made by deebeo, LLC, and is available for iPhone. This policy will be updated before an Android version ships.

What stays on your device

Social Patch keeps these on your phone, and never sends them to us or anyone else:

  • Session history. For each session: the platform, when it started and ended, how long it ran, the plan you picked, and your answers to the check-in after it. Counts, too: posts viewed, likes, comments and other interactions, reminders and prompts and how you answered each, and how many of the posts you viewed read as positive, neutral, or negative. It also keeps the sequence of the platform's sections you moved through, by name only: feed, search, messages, and so on. It holds counts and labels only, never what you read or wrote, and no usernames or links. Choosing not to open a platform is recorded the same way. It is kept for six months, and you can clear it any time in Settings.
  • Your settings. Which platforms you use, how each intervention and the coach are set, where you last left the session pill, and which of the app's notices you've asked not to see again.
  • Platform support files. A copy of the small script Social Patch uses for each platform (more on that below), so it doesn't download it again every time.

What the app reads, and where

To know when to step in and what to say, Social Patch reads the page as you use a platform: which section you're on, which posts and comments come into view, and which buttons you tap, such as like, save, or follow. To count each post and comment once, it notes the platform's own ID for it and its author's username, and to recognize a tap, it notes which request the page sends to the platform. Those stay in memory and are gone when the session ends.

It also reads the tone of text: the captions and image descriptions of posts you view, the comments you're shown, and a comment or post you're about to publish. That reading happens on your phone, with Apple's on-device language tools and, with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model. Each text is reduced to one label (positive, neutral, or negative) and then discarded. The text itself is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere.

Where Apple's on-device model is available, the coach can write its reminders and prompts with it, from your session's figures, those labels, and your session history. Nothing it reads leaves your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Social Patch has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash-reporting service, and no tracking of any kind. We don't sell data because we don't have any.

Two things can still reach us, through Apple and only by your choice:

  • Crash reports and usage statistics, if you've turned on Share With App Developers on your iPhone (Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements). They don't include your name or contact details. We use them only to fix problems.
  • Beta feedback. If you test Social Patch through TestFlight, Apple shares the feedback and crash reports you send, and what it shows developers about their testers.

If you email us, we get your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply.

What the app downloads

To work with each platform, Social Patch downloads a small script for it from socialpatch.app: the first time you open that platform, and again only when we publish an update. At the start of a session it fetches a short list of the current versions to check. None of these requests carries information about you: no account, no device identifier, no session data, only what any web request carries, such as your phone's IP address, iOS version, and language. The host (GitHub Pages) keeps standard server logs of those requests. We don't receive them.

The platforms you open

The platforms you open in Social Patch load as their own mobile websites. When you sign in to one, you sign in to that platform directly: your credentials go to it, and its cookies stay in the app's web view on your device. Social Patch never keeps or sends your password. Links that lead off the platform open in an in-app browser. If a platform asks for your camera, your microphone, or to save a photo, iOS asks for your permission first, and what you share goes to that platform. What the platform collects while you use it is governed by that platform's own privacy policy, not this one.

Social Patch changes one thing on those pages: it stops the platforms' own prompts to open or install their apps, hiding the banners and not following the links. It doesn't hide or change ads, posts, or comments, and it never takes an action you didn't choose.

Children

Social Patch isn't directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that collects anything new will be stated plainly at the top.
